The Chilean Embassy to the Philippines hosted a meeting between Jesús Cham, President of the Meat Importers and Traders Association of the Philippines (MITA), and Juan Carlos Domínguez, President of ChileCarne, the producer’s association that manages the ChilePork brand, also supported by ProChile, the Chilean Exports Promotion Bureau.
The meeting highlighted the attributes of the Chilean pork industry, which has focused on the most demanding global markets since its beginnings and therefore offers world-class products made under the highest standards of health, food safety, and biosecurity.
MITA representatives underlined their efforts advocating for the Filipino government to ease the entry of foreign pork suppliers, considering how African swine fever has impacted local production and raised pork prices.
