On September 22, ChileCarne’s president, Juan Carlos Domínguez, accompanied U.S. Ambassador to Chile Brandon Judd and U.S. Agricultural Attaché Amanda Hinkle on a tour of Agrosuper’s Lo Miranda plant. The visit offered a firsthand look at the processes supporting the production and export of chicken and pork and served as a forum to discuss the trade and production ties between the two countries.
During the visit, Domínguez shared key aspects of the sector’s work with U.S. officials, including traceability systems and food safety measures that support domestic production and access to international markets. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the agri-food sector and to advance trade relations between Chile and the United States.
The United States is a key market for Chilean meat exports, particularly chicken. In 2025, Chile exported nearly 48,000 metric tons of chicken to the United States, valued at over $150 million USD. This accounted for approximately 30% of U.S. purchases.
This meeting was one of many that Ambassador Judd has held with companies and representatives from various economic sectors since his arrival in Chile. In the meat sector, the strong relationship between the two countries is evident in both trade and in the shared production and health standards that have helped establish Chilean meat’s presence in the U.S. market.
