With a national launch held in Santiago, Coexca’s Campo Noble brand, the Municipality of Talca and its Culture Corporation officially invited the people of Chile to attend the sixteenth Fiesta Costumbrista del Chancho. On August 1 and 2 this traditional pig festival will once again transform Talca’s main square into a meeting point for the food, culture, and traditions of Chile’s Maule region.
The launch was held at the restaurant of renowned chef Rodrigo Barañao, with over 250 guests, including government authorities, industry representatives, sponsors, collaborators, and media. The ceremony was led by the Mayor of Talca, Juan Carlos Díaz; the chair of Coexca’s board of directors, Claudio Soler; the company’s general manager, Guillermo García; and representatives of Talca’s Municipal Culture Corporation. They all highlighted the status this traditional celebration has achieved as one of Chile’s main culinary events and invited families and visitors from all over the country to enjoy the experience.
Now in its sixteenth year, the Fiesta Costumbrista del Chanchowill offer two days of the best regional cuisine with an array of pork dishes, live music, crafts, local products, and various activities for the whole family. It also seeks to highlight the contribution of the agri-food chain to the territory and strengthen the culinary identity of Maule as a can’t-miss winter attraction.
This year, ChilePork will play a prominent role with a cooking masterclass led by Korean executive chef and food influencer Seyoung Park, a specialist in premium pork and Korean BBQ. With over 15 years of experience in restaurant development, kitchen standardization, and creation of new culinary concepts, the chef will cook dishes that fuse Asian culinary tradition and the quality of Chilean pork. ChilePork will also be the star of the Torneo de Asadores cook-off, organized by the Chilean Barbecue Association (ACA), which will feature ChilePork’s «Asian ribs.» Both activities will highlight Chile’s close trade relationship with Asia, the primary destination for its pork exports, incorporating Asian flavors and inspiration into this traditional celebration.
With free admission, the Fiesta Costumbrista del Chanchoexpects to bring together thousands of visitors over the weekend, inviting them to savor delicious food, meet local entrepreneurs, and enjoy an experience that celebrates the identity, traditions, and heritage of Chile’s Maule region.
