Meat industry meeting convenes more than 150 stakeholders from the sector

On November 27, ChileCarne brought together more than 150 people, including producers, authorities, academics, suppliers, exporters, trade associations, journalists, university representatives, and embassy officials from key export destinations, at Cousiño Macul winery for an event that showcased the progress made in the pork and poultry sector.

The meeting reviewed key milestones, shared experiences, and discussed the challenges ahead in continuing to strengthen an industry that is now Chile’s fifth largest food exporter. The event also highlighted the sector’s progress and the work of those who have driven its development through collaboration, quality, biosecurity, sustainability, and the opening of new markets.

ChileCarne took the opportunity to present its comprehensive Sustainability Report, a document that covers 25 years of progress in the pork sector. Prepared together with Claudia Pabón, professor at the Institute for Sustainable Development (IDS) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, the report takes a comprehensive look at the sector’s environmental, social, and productive development, highlighting how the incorporation of technologies, standards, and best practices has been key to its growth.

The meeting was also a chance to recognize the joint efforts that have positioned Chile as a leader in pork and poultry production and export, acknowledging the commitment of all the players who have driven its development and international reach. The event ended by kicking off the tenth anniversary celebration of ChileCarne, which will be officially celebrated in 2026.
