To strengthen the skills of employees who lead animal welfare training in their companies, the course “Train the trainer – Animal welfare in the broiler production chain” was held on October 28 at ChileCarne’s offices, organized by CloverLeaf Animal Welfare Systems, a company specializing in the assessment and improvement of animal welfare standards, in collaboration with Zoetis and ChileCarne.
Animal welfare for broiler chickens encompasses essential aspects, such as the proper handling of the birds, the quality of the environment (temperature, ventilation, and density), balanced feeding, and transport. All these factors directly impact the animals’ health and comfort, as well as the quality and sustainability of the end product.
The event was led by María Verónica Jiménez, Operations Director at CloverLeaf, and brought together veterinarians, trainers, and supervisors from the sector. During the meeting, participants explored updated technical content and pedagogical tools to effectively convey learning to their team members, thereby becoming knowledge multipliers within their organizations.
The “Train the trainer” program is part of CloverLeaf’s training model, which teaches professionals how to design, plan, and implement science-based animal welfare training initiatives, promoting practices that enhance the health, comfort, and productivity of birds at all stages of the production chain.
The activity is part of ChileCarne’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the skills of industry professionals and promoting animal welfare as a key pillar of the country’s meat chain sustainability and competitiveness.
