In late October, Thanawat Tiensin, Assistant Director-General and Director of the Animal Production and Health Division of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), visited one of Agrosuper’s plants, as part of an exchange with industry representatives.

The meeting reaffirmed the joint commitment of ChileCarne, Agrosuper, and the FAO to promote more sustainable, safe, and competitive animal production, strengthening international cooperation and sharing best practices for a modern and responsible meat industry.

During the visit, the importance of continuing progress in biosecurity, innovation, and sustainability was emphasized, as these are fundamental pillars that consolidate the Chilean meat industry as a global benchmark in high-standard animal production. These pillars underpin the confidence of international markets and ensure the production of high-quality products, manufactured under strict health and environmental standards.

Furthermore, the meeting emphasized that working alongside global organizations such as the FAO improves the sector’s ability to respond to health and market challenges, promoting continuous improvement throughout the production chain and contributing to an increasingly sustainable and responsible industry.
