In a trade mission focused on consolidating their presence in Europe, a delegation from Coexca and Maxagro made an official visit to Romania, supported by the Romanian Embassy in Santiago and the Chilean Embassy in Bucharest. The delegation aimed to deepen ties within the Romanian market and explore new business opportunities in the region.

While in Bucharest, the delegation held high-level meetings with key representatives from the Romanian business sector. This included discussions with Ruxandra Serescu, General Manager of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), who emphasized the collaborative potential between the two countries. They also met with Mihai Teodorescu, General Manager of the National Seaport Management Company, who provided a strategic overview of Romania’s port and logistics services, valuable for foreign trade operations.

A major highlight of the mission was the visit to the Port of Constanta, Romania’s primary seaport and one of the largest on the Black Sea. This visit allowed the delegation to evaluate the port’s infrastructure and logistical capabilities for facilitating Chilean exports to the Romanian market. The potential to use Constanta as an entry point into Eastern Europe offers a strategic advantage for Chilean companies, opening doors to a growing consumer market and reducing shipping times.

Chile’s Ambassador to Romania, Julio Bravo, also supported the trade mission, reaffirming both governments’ commitment to strengthening bilateral trade. In light of the increasing interest in Chile-Romania relations, this visit represents a significant step in promoting Chilean meat within the European market and establishing beneficial strategic partnerships.

Agrosuper advances renewable energy with solar panel installation at plants and headquarters

In line with its environmental commitment, Agrosuper is expanding its renewable energy efforts by installing solar panels across 13 key production sites.

This initiative aims not only to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources but also to contribute surplus electricity to Chile’s power grid, supporting a cleaner, more sustainable production chain.

The project includes Agrosuper’s headquarters, where photovoltaic panels will be installed on covered parking structures. The system will enable the company to self-generate approximately 630,000 kWh per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of 78 households. By investing in clean and renewable energy sources, Agrosuper reinforces its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and protecting the environment.

Through energy self-generation across its production facilities and offices, Agrosuper seeks to enhance energy self-sufficiency while contributing to a more resilient and sustainable electrical system. This project is part of a series of initiatives the company has implemented in recent years to optimize its production process and lower its environmental impact.
