The event gathered more than 300,000 people and ChilePork was present with a culinary demonstration by renowned chefs Rodrigo Barañao and Han Woosuk. Attendees enjoyed a delicious South Korean recipe featuring Chilean pork ribs, celebrated for their unique flavor and unmatched quality.

The organizers described the 2024 “Fiesta Costumbrista del Chancho” as a complete success, attended by more than 300,000 people. The mayor of the city of Talca, Juan Carlos Díaz, highlighted the qualities that made the festival a success: “the key element is the response of the neighbors, who we see here enjoying everything the pig festival has to offer, the food, wine, folklore, and crafts. Yesterday, we were very pleased to see the neighbors sampling delicious foods; and today, I’ve spoken to the artisans, who also tell me that they’ve done very well, so we feel that the festival has ultimately met all the goals we had set: providing a space for cultural recreation to the community while also supporting our entrepreneurs.”

On both Saturday and Sunday, turnout was impressive from open to close, both at the Plaza de Armas and the surrounding streets (Diagonal Isidoro del Solar and 1 Sur).

Guillermo García, General Manager of Coexca, the company that co-organizes the event with the municipality, expressed his satisfaction with the results and scope of the 2024 edition of the traditional pork festival. “We are very happy. Once again it was demonstrated that this festival belongs to the entire community, who come to enjoy the best pork-based recipes, as well as the crafts and folklore at this family-friendly event. It’s a celebration that brings people together around Chile’s traditions. We are quite pleased that more than 300,000 people who attended this year’s festival.”

The festival featured a wide-ranging set up that included more than 260 entrepreneurs, 25 chefs, 200 culinary students, 25,000 recipes featuring pork, a craft beer garden, a barbecue competition, a stage with more than 20 performances, an extensive security operation, 20 wineries from the Maule Valley Wine Route, food trucks, and sponsorship activations, among other attractions such as the nice weather, all of which contributed to the success of the 2024 “Fiesta Costumbrista del Chancho.”
