In February, the association held meetings with the Chilean Ambassador to China, Mauricio Hurtado, and ProChile’s (the Chilean Exports Promotion Bureau) newly appointed Director, Ignacio Fernández. ChileCarne was represented by President Juan Carlos Domínguez, Business Manager Rodrigo Castañón, and Research and Marketing Manager Pía Barros.
Both meetings were aimed at communicating ChileCarne’s role, its principal areas of action, the industry’s key figures, and the activities scheduled for 2023. The importance of public-private collaboration to promote and position Chilean poultry and pork in foreign markets was also highlighted.
The Ambassador to China expressed his gratitude for the meeting and stressed the need to return to China in person and coordinate activities with various Chilean productive sectors. In turn, ProChile’s Director called food exporters to work together and to think of ways to include industry suppliers in the export business.
