On October 22, the Director General of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Dr. Emmanuelle Soubeyran, gave a keynote address at the Bicentenario Building in Santiago. The meeting was organized by Chile’s Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca), and the Chilean delegate to the WOAH, Dr. Carlos Orellana Vaquero.
ChileCarne was invited to the event, which addressed the main global challenges in animal health, welfare, and international cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening collaboration between public and private organizations to anticipate risks and share experiences that promote more resilient and sustainable production systems.
The association reiterated its commitment to biosecurity, food safety, and public-private collaboration, pillars that have enabled Chile to maintain its reputation for animal health in international markets and consolidate itself as a leader in high-standard animal production.
